Shutdown services are typically time-critical operations on complex worksites, with multiple contractors working in unfamiliar circumstances. Unanticipated risks and hazards are often exposed during these activities, resulting in costly delays and complications.
Occuhealth supplies Occupational Health and Hygiene professionals to cover all required workplace medicals and atmospheric monitoring services during shutdown operations. Services include, but not limited to:
- Exposure monitoring
- Noise impact studies
- Management of heat stress and ergonomic of work
- Gas testing
- Fit testing services
- Asbestos inspection and clearance monitoring
- Training of contractors
- Medical services
Providing 24-hour coverage to local and remote sites, personnel can also be made available at short notice to contractors who require Ergonomists, Nurses and Occupational Hygienists to fulfil their contract arrangements.
Trained and experienced health and hygiene officers are available for both long and short term engagements, and TBOSIET and MSIC qualified staff are provided where and when necessary. Occuhealth has supported a number of major shutdown activities at both on and offshore facilities, including oil and gas installations, refineries and mine sites.
