Tradies National Health Month: A focus on musculoskeletal support

Health, tradies, physio, pre-employment, medical

Australia’s trade industry continues to have among the highest health and safety issues of any sector. Time off work due to poor health and injury has a significant impact on families, businesses, communities, the health system and the economy. This impact will grow if we don’t take steps to change behaviour.

Tradies National Health Month aims to raise awareness of the risks posed to those who work in trade occupations—among individuals, their families, employers and the wider community.

Tradies need to make their health the most important part of their toolkit. Preventive treatment to reduce the risk of injury is just as important as seeking help when things do go wrong. This is where physiotherapy comes in.

From musculoskeletal support, Exercise Physiologist (EP) extend their care to chronic health impacts, like heart disease and diabetes, and the lesser-known pelvic floor issues men face. EP are experts in helping to reduce the alarmingly common health and safety issues associated with working in labour intensive industries, preventing injury and also getting people back to work quickly.

At Occuhealth, our EP is part of our medical services. She provides clients with medical assessments to ensure your employees are fit and ready to start. She can also provide return to work programs. Contact us today for more details.
