Whilst employers are aware that asbestos is a hazardous material, what is less understood is how the risks should be managed and controlled within the workplace. Occuhealth works with you to provide the right mix of strategic advice and support from the services below.
Asbestos consultancy services:
We have a dedicated service to help you reduce exposure to asbestos and other hazardous substances in the workplace. You can be sure of our testing quality and accuracy. We use a third party NATA certified laboratory to perform all fibre based testing.
Asbestos Management Services:
An asbestos management service is designed to protect and promote the physical and environmental health of all people from asbestos containing material. Other aspects to consider include the frequency and duration of employee activity within the location, as well as the potential maintenance of the suspected material and any other exposure controls. Asbestos Surveys, Registers and Management Plans comply with the WA Codes of Practice, and the current Model Code of Practice: How to Manage and Control Asbestos in the Workplace (2016).
Risk Assessments:
Risk assessment is based upon a number of factors including the type, friability, surface treatment and condition of the asbestos. Other aspects to consider include the frequency and duration of employee activity within the location, as well as the potential maintenance of the suspected material and any other exposure controls.
Asbestos Inspections:
Asbestos inspections/surveys are required for your protection. The asbestos inspection will help minimise your economic liability and health risks to occupants in your building or job sites. Secondly, by obtaining an asbestos survey early you will be able to avoid costly workflow delays and unforeseen asbestos hazards exposure. All assessments are performed according to the Codes of Practice.
Asbestos Awareness Training
The two-hour asbestos awareness training has been designed for the personnel that are working in maintenance or trades where asbestos may be encountered during their daily operations as required by Safe Work Australia.
