In November 2019, two of our staff attended the British Occupational Hygiene Society (BOHS) training facility to complete their asbestos training. After a week in the classroom they both sucessfully achieved their International Proficiency Certificate in Asbestos Surveying and Sampling qualification.
Asbestos surveyors play a critical role in preventing exposure to asbestos. This qualification covers the basic tried and tested knowledge and skills required to locate and identify airborne asbestos fibres in buildings and provide advice to minimise the risk of exposure.
At Occuhealth all assessments are performed according to the Code for the Management and Control of Asbestos in the Workplace [NOHSC: 2018 (2005)], ensuring that reports are fully compliant with international standards for environmental protection and health safety.
